( ઉંઝા જોડણીમાં)
તા. 21 મી એપ્રીલ – 2007 ના રોજ ક્રીસ્ટોફર પાર લાયબ્રેરી, પ્લેનો, ટેક્સાસ ખાતે યુવા કાવ્ય –સંગીત સમારોહ ઉજવાઇ ગયો. ડલાસ – ફોર્ટવર્થના ગુજરાતી કવીતાના રસીકજનોના સંગઠન ‘શોધ’ના ઉપક્રમે આ કાર્યક્રમ યોજાયો હતો. કાર્યક્રમનું સંચાલન શ્રી. નીશેન્દુ વસાવડાએ કર્યું હતું. નીચે દશાવેલ બાળકોએ તેમાં ભાગ લીધો હતો-

બાળકોએ ભજનો, ગીતો, વાદ્યસંગીત અને સ્વરચીત કવીતાઓ રજુ કર્યાં હતાં. શ્રીમતી સંગીતાબેન ધારીયાએ સુરીલા કંઠે પ્રાર્થના અને ગઝલ ગાયાં હતાં. શ્રી. રીઝવાન શેખ અને શ્રી. અતુલ શાહે શ્રી. હીમાંશુ ભટ્ટની એક ગઝલનું સ્વરાંકન કરેલી રચના કર્ણમધુર સંગીત સાથે પીરસી હતી. આ અહેવાલના લેખકે બાળકો માટેના એક વૃંદગાન ( ચાલોને નાચીએ ) નું પઠન કર્યું હતું, જે સૌએ ઉત્સાહપુર્વક ઝીલ્યું હતું. ભારતીય રાશ્ટ્રગીત જય જાનીએ કીબોર્ડ પર રજુ કર્યું, તેની સાથે આ કાર્યક્રમની સમાપ્તી થઇ હતી. દરેક બાળકને ‘શોધ’ તરફથી સ્મૃતીચીહ્ન રુપે કપ આપવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
‘ શોધ ‘ ના કામગરા મીત્રો આરતીબેન અને પ્રવીણભાઇ દેસાઇ, રુચા જાની અને તેના ભાઇ ઉમંગ જાની, વીનુભાઇ સોની, હીમાંશુ ભટ્ટ, નીશેન્દુ વસાવડા, સંગીતા ધારીઆ, અતુલ શાહ, રીઝવાન શેખ, વી. એ આ કાર્યક્રમ સફળતાપુર્વક પાર પાડવા માટે નોંધપાત્ર પ્રદાન કર્યું હતું.
છેલ્લા બે વર્શથી વસંત રુતુમાં યોજાતો બાળકો/ યુવા માટેનો આ કાર્યક્રમ હવે ડલાસ/ ફોર્ટવર્થ ના ગુજરાતી સમાજ માટે એક અનીવાર્ય અને અવીભાજ્ય અંગ બની ગયો છે.

Youth Poetry/ Music Celebration- Dallas- 2007
On 21st April – 2007 a program of poetry and music for youth was organized at Christopher Parr Library, Plano, Texas. The program was held under the auspices of ‘ Shodh’ - a Gujarati poetry lovers’ group of Dallas/ Fortworth and nearby towns. The program was conducted by Shri Nishendu Vasavada. Following children participated in the program:-

The children presented prayers, songs, instrumental music and poetry recitation. Mrs. Sangita Dharia sung a prayer and a gajhal in her melodious voice. Mr. Rizwan Shaikh and Mr. Atul Shah presented a gajhal written by Mr. Himanshu Bhatt with melodious music. The writer of this report recited a chorus song ( Let us dance ) for kids, in which the audience also participated heartily. The program ended with Indian National Anthem presented by Jay Jai on Keyboard. Each child was awarded a cup in memory of participation.
The untiring members of ‘Shodh’ - Arti and Pravin Desai, Rucha Jani and her brother Umang Jani, Vinubhai Soni, Himanshu Bhatt, Nishendu Vasavada, Sangita Dharia, Atul Shah, Rizwan Shailkh etc. exerted a lot to make this program successful.
This program for kids held in spring since last two years has become an unavoidable and integral part for the Gujarati community of Dallas/ Fortworth and nearby towns.
